The Balmain Resort 2013 collection was created by Olivier Rousteing. His fixation for this collection was America, and you can see this from his use of colours to his silhouettes. I love his clashing, bold prints. Here are a few of my favourites...

Shane Waltener

When I was at uni I despised Knitting (having studied fashion and textiles, it was obligatory.) However I loved looking at the knitwear that others created which led me on to buy the book "Radical Lace & Subversive Knitting." Shane Waltener features in this book and I love his work, it's so pretty (I hate that word but it has to be used in this case.) My favourite is called "Aunt Peggy Has Departed" and it was an installation in 2003 at an abandoned underground station in London...

Artist for the day...

This is my favourite artist for the day: his name is Lawrence Yang. He is influenced by graffiti art and traditional Chinese painting, and he works in ink, marker, and watercolor. Lawrence's paintings have a sense of chaos to them and a great atmospheric presence. He lives in San Francisco with his imaginary pets, Cholo and Binky!
